Chilling out after the challenges of school is what the After School Club is all about - we have a large number of sofas for that very reason! Young people aged 11 – 18 years are welcome to the club which is free and is on during term time for a couple of hours after school.
Our Youth Centre is a safe, fun environment to chill out with your mates, perhaps over a game of pool, table tennis or air hockey. We also have an xbox and our Youth Workers are never short on game, craft or activity ideas.
Each month our activities and games are linked by a common theme encouraging young people to have fun and create friendships whilst bringing an important subject to their attention. Some of the topics we have covered in the past are climate change, staying safe, positive mental health, healthy eating and setting goals.
In the summer, we run Holiday Hangouts, and Level Up which is a transition programme aimed at those moving into Year 7.
Our Youth Workers are also on hand to provide support and a listening ear to any young person. Maybe you would like to discuss something that is happening in your life at the moment?
Include video from Ben and Charlie:
how much fun it is, what do you do?
can we get stills of sessions spliced into video?
perhaps a typical game etc
COVID-19 has meant that we can no longer offer a "drop-in" provision to our Youth Centres, however, you can still get involved. We are running daily sessions, that you can book onto. You can also find quizzes, challenges and funny content on Instagram: @ka_athome or perhaps join one of our many zoom groups.
Our Youth Workers are available each weekday from 3.30-4.15pm to chat with young people on a 1:1 basis. During this time, just click the red "Let's Chat" button in the bottom right of your screen.
Maybe you're worried about school, or struggling with current issues, or maybe you just want a different someone to talk to, we’re still here for you.
