We have been very busy in Alton; our groups have increased in size and number and now include After School clubs (twice a week), SuperSONICs (weekly group for young people with autism and additional needs), Young Carers groups, mentoring sessions and our weekly Aspire programme. We were also due to start a new weekly anxiety course on Mondays - with COVID-19, we are now working out exactly what that will look like.
If you want to learn more about KA Alton, or can help support the development of services for young people or the building through finances or volunteering, please contact Lisa at Lisa@thekingsarms.org.uk
THE BUILDING WORKS SO FAR...
We've also had some fantastic coverage in the press about our new Alton Youth Centre and we are very excited to watch the building works progress - we can't wait until it is ready! Here's what's been happening....
Our new downstairs kitchen and mentoring room windows are in place - paid for by our lovely Facebook friends. Thanks to Rob Chaplin for installing them free of charge and making sure we buy the right ones!
The kitchen units have been fitted, and we are waiting for our cooker and dishwasher to be sourced.
Our focus continues to be on electrics, plumbing and plastering. A huge thank you to our volunteer tradesmen who are working wonders with the centre.
We have received many donations from individuals, community groups, Councillors and other grant giving bodies to keep the building work on track - thank you so much, we couldn't do it without you!
