We are looking for an exceptional person to:

Lead our After School and Hub provision in Petersfield managing an exciting programme of activities after school, in the evenings and during the holidays, and connecting in young people from our other programmes.  Support the senior youth worker for group mentoring delivering programmes for those struggling with anxiety, anger management, issues with self-esteem or making good choices, and those on the edge of school exclusion. It will also involve delivering one to one mentoring as required.

Be a key member of the chaplaincy team at HSDC Alton (Alton Sixth Form College) offering mental, emotional, and spirituality well-being support, being responsive to those who would like to ask ‘big’ questions, and supporting the CU.

This post requires an enhanced DBS and has a genuine occupational requirement for a Christian as it is part funded by the Parish of the Resurrection in Alton/Diocese of Winchester.

You will have at least two years of experience of working with young people and co-ordinating projects.

YOUTH WORKER

Project Lead for After School in Alton

Fixed term contract until 31st August 2022 with extension subject to funding

18.5 hours per week all year around,  Salary £10.57 – £11.90ph depending on experience

You will be specifically responsible for running our After School provisions in Alton. After School runs

Mon - Fri usually for 1.5 hours each day. You may also be involved in 1:1 mentoring or group mentoring programmes from time to time. In the future it is hoped that this role will grow into a full-time position. We are looking for someone who takes responsibility, is flexible and has a strong team spirit. You will have the enthusiasm to be involved in the planning and delivery of an exciting and varied programme of activities, but also have the ability to be a listening ear and mentor for young people when required. This post requires an enhanced DBS.

You will have at least two years of experience of working with young people and co-ordinating projects.

INTERN/GAP YEAR STUDENT

Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice

1st September 2021 to 31st July 2022

35 hours per week all year around

Alton or Petersfield

 We are looking for 4 interns (2 in Petersfield, 2 in Alton). As you volunteer for a year at the King's Arms we will invest in training and supporting you to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice. This is a unique opportunity to obtain a qualification whilst gaining work experience and influencing young people’s lives. As part of the internship programme, you will develop your strengths and also have the opportunity to gain experience behind the scenes and get involved in other areas of the youth centre for example - marketing, admin, finance, IT. You will be someone who has a heart to see young people grow and be at their best, be good with people and preferably have some experience of working with

11-18 year olds. You will need to be a minimum age of 17, and have at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent.

You will have some experience of working with young people.  An enhanced DBS check will be required for these roles. The Kings Arms is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
